Shape

InterOcean Advisors LLC (“InterOcean”) announced today that Shape LLC (“Shape” or the “Company”) has been acquired by Gen Cap America, Inc. (“GCA”). InterOcean served as the exclusive financial advisor to Shape.

Shape was founded in 1966 and is a leading global manufacturer of optimally designed-for-performance electrical transformers. The Company specializes in the production of large transformers with rated wattage above 250 watts. Shape’s transformers are used in airport lighting, airport security systems, ultraviolet curing, water sanitation, telecom equipment and other niche applications.

Shape products are sold directly to original equipment manufacturer customers. The Company’s headquarters and manufacturing facility is located in Addison, Illinois.

“Shape’s engineering expertise and dominant position in several niche markets made it an attractive platform for private equity buyers,” commented Chris Wujtowicz, a Senior Associate at InterOcean. “GCA’s commitment to Shape’s management aligned exceptionally well with the Company’s transition strategy and fostered a seamless transaction.”
