InterOcean’s latest industry report focuses on the continued strength of the commercial aerospace industry through the first half of 2015. Consumer demand for air travel is at an all-time high, largely due to the creation of wealth in countries in Asia and the Middle East. Airlines are ordering new planes at record levels not only to accommodate the increase in demand and add new routes, but also to replace old and obsolete equipment with new, fuel-efficient aircraft. As a result, current production and backlog levels are at their historical peaks, and the forecast for the next 20 years appears very robust.
