InterOcean Advisors is pleased to announce that Kevin Pavlov has joined the Firm as a Senior Consultant. Kevin will support InterOcean’s efforts to develop mergers and acquisitions and capital raise advisory opportunities and serve the Firm’s clients in the Automotive and Technology industries.
Kevin brings nearly thirty years of experience in the transportation sector. He has a strong technical background and senior management experience and has led cutting edge technological and product developments for automotive OEMs and suppliers. His resume includes large global corporations, government entities, and entrepreneurial and start-up company experience.
Kevin most recently served as the Executive Vice President of the Ventures and Innovation group within Magna International. He has previously held several leadership positions in the Automotive and Technology sectors:
› President and Chief Operating Officer of the Magna / Stronach Group joint venture and member of the E-Car Systems executive board (Overall responsibility for the development and direction of E-Car, including its three divisions: Energy Components, Energy Storage, and Lithium Ion Battery Cell manufacturing)
› Vice President North America and Asia for Magna Electronics (overseeing the development and supply of driver assistance systems, body electrical, and electric propulsion and energy management systems for hybrid electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, and battery electric vehicles)
› President and Chief Executive Officer of BluWāv Systems (complete responsibility for corporate development and commercialization of all transportation applications – BluWāv produced energy products including EV & HEV automotive components, off-vehicle charging components, and communications equipment)
› Executive management positions at Wavecrest Laboratories and Visteon Corporation (responsible for creating and staffing the innovation division, which developed energy efficient by-wire applications in the areas of brakes, steering, driveline and interactive vehicle dynamics)
Kevin also spent ten years working in engineering at the Ford Motor Company.
Kevin holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic engineering from the University of Detroit, a master’s in electronics and computer control systems from Wayne State University, and an Executive MBA from the Advanced Management Program at Michigan State University. He is also in the process of completing an MBA in business turnaround management from the University of Detroit, and holds more than 40 patents.
